Single visa for Mali in Nouakchott costs 650UMR and takes 30mins to obtain. There are 2 locations for the embassy on Google Maps, go for the one in English. The one on N2 Nouadhibou route is no longer valid. You need 2 photos and a photocopy of your passport and they ask for point of entry and date of entry and both are on the visa stamp. There was some confusion about it possibly thanks to my French when I tried to explain to madame consul (I think she was the consul) that I want to enter Mali from Guinea. She tried to explain to me that visa for Guinea is in embassy of Guinea and visa for Senegal is in embassy for Senegal and this is Embassy of Mali! Ah bon. All was sorted quickly.
